The whole of the Netherlands is in shock when 56-year-old top executive Gerrit Jan Heijn is kidnapped on September 9, 1987. What follows is a months-long manhunt for the perpetrator: Ferdi E. He murdered Heijn on the day of the kidnapping, but kept up the pretense for months that he was still alive.
