In a town on the Peruvian coast, Diego, Lupe's boyfriend and a bongo player, has a secret relationship with Marga, a singer and dancer. Suddenly, Carlos, Marga's former boyfriend, arrives to settle in the town. Now the manager of the El Velero cabaret, he doesn't approve of his beloved performing as
