- 20 декабря 1917 года, Эрик Кэмпбелл, сидя за рулём автомобиля в состоянии сильнейшего алкогольного опьянения, не справился с управлением и погиб в автокатастрофе. Его автомобиль был так искорёжен при лобовом столкновении, что тело массивного актёра не могли извлечь из обломков в течение пяти часов.
- После кремации урна с его прахом не была востребована и оставалась непохороненной до 1952 года, когда один из служащих крематория оплатил похороны. Однако при этом не было отмечено точное место захоронения и сейчас могилы Кэмпбелла практически не существует.
