Родился в семье студента Ленинградского театрального института будущего народного артиста России Ивана Краско и школьной учительницы Киры Петровой.
Скончался на съёмках фильма «Ликвидация» Сергея Урсуляка от сердечной недостаточности.
В 1979 году окончил ЛГИТМиК, мастерскую Аркадия Кацмана и Льва Додина.
Похоронен на Мемориальном кладбище в посёлке Комарово под Санкт-Петербургом.
