Скандальность пьесы заключалась в том, что Питером Пеном был хиппи, Тинкер Белл был гомосексуалистом, а путешествие в Нетландию - галлюцинацией под воздействием ЛСД. Пьеса принесла определённый успех Гордону - его арестовали, а университет ему закончить не удалось.
