Новое румынское кино
Румынская волна стала одним из национальных вариантов реалистической тенденции в кино 2000-х. Изобразительный и повествовательный аскетизм нового кино — следствие неприязни к пафосному советскому кинематографу и скудости бюджетов. Главными темами НРК 2000-х стали отношения с тоталитарным прошлым страны и его последствиями, структуры власти и общественных отношений, а характерными приёмами — мрачный, иногда абсурдистский юмор и объективный реализм.
