- Полное имя - Вицин Георгий Михайлович.
- Настоящий год рождения Вицина — 1917, и родился он в местечке Териоки. Чтобы его приняли в актёрскую студию, мать записала, что он родился в 1918 году.
- В сорок восемь лет Георгий Вицин сыграл двадцатилетнего Мишу Бальзаминова («Женитьба Бальзаминова»). В тридцать семь — восемнадцатилетнего Васю Веснушкина в фильме «Запасной игрок». В тридцать шесть лет изобразил древнего деда Мусия в картине «Максим Перепелица».
- На съёмках фильма «Запасной игрок» герой Вицина на боксёрском ринге должен был драться с героем Павла Кадочникова. На репетиции боксёрского поединка Вицин так разошелся, что всерьёз атаковал Павла Кадочникова. Кадочников, занимавшийся боксом профессионально, среагировал автоматически. В результате Вицин очнулся с трещиной в ребре.
- Как-то Георгию Вицину предложили сняться в эпизоде, где его герой мчится на водных лыжах по Днепру. Вицин отказался. Тогда режиссёр пошел на хитрость и «состряпал» письмо следующего содержания: «Уважаемый товарищ Вицин! Вы мой идеал, я мечтаю познакомиться с Вами! Слышала, завтра Вы снимаетесь на акваплане? Какой Вы смелый! Я обязательно посмотрю и после съёмок подойду к Вам. Поверьте, Вы не разочаруетесь. Клава». На следующий день Вицин отважно носился по водной глади, падал в воду, но после съёмок сказал режиссёру: — А имя девушке могли бы придумать и покрасивее!
