  • Полное имя - Кэтрин Хоугтон Хепберн (Katharine Houghton Hepburn).
  • Кэтрин надеялась сыграть Скарлетт О`Хара в голливудской экранизации романа «Унесенные ветром». Но роль она не получила. Тогда известный драматург Фил Барри специально для нее написал пьесу «Филадельфийская история».
  • Окончила колледж Брин Мор (выпуск 1928 года), знала несколько языков, заработала медаль на чемпионате по фигурному катанию, была второй теннисисткой штата Миссури и одной из самых многообещающих гольфисток в стране.
