  • Настоящее имя - Морис Джозеф Майклуайт (Maurice Joseph Micklewhite). В начале актёрской карьеры использовал сценический псевдоним Майкл Скотт, но позже сменил фамилию на Кейн. Псевдоним был выбран им совершенно случайно: во время разговора с агентом в телефонной будке. Обернувшись, он увидел афишу фильма «Восстание Кейна» (1954) и не задумываясь назвал это имя.
  • Актер не закончил школу, будучи вынужден пойти работать. А потом попал солдатом на войну в Корее, где угодил в самое пекло и чудом выжил.
  • Кейн - меломан. Любит электронную музыку в стиле чилл-аут и даже выпустил альбом «Cained» (2007) с миксами собственного сочинения.
  • В 1979 году ему пришлось покинуть Англию из-за проблем с налоговой службой. Вернулся лишь в 1987.
  • После смерти матери узнал, что у него есть старший брат Дэвид (умер в 1992 году), страдающий тяжёлой формой эпилепсии, который всё время находился в психиатрической больнице.
  • Его младший брат - актёр Стэнли Кейн (1935).
