I Am a Pepper Picker

Set in the 1980s, the film follows female “pepper pickers” from Heyang, Shaanxi, who travel to Han City—famous for its red-robed pepper—to harvest on mountain tops. Each year, over 100,000 such workers arrive, forming a vivid portrait of rural women’s labor and migration.
